Educator

Description of position

The educator is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, well-being, and overall development of the children in accordance with the CPE’s educational program. She plans, organizes, and leads activities that promote the children’s physical, social, emotional, language, and cognitive development.

Salary (range) :

Between 20$ and 23$

Typical schedule :

Each week alternates between study hours (an average of 15 hours) and work hours (10 to 20 hours depending on the needs of the workplace), throughout the duration of the program.

Professional Skills Ability to plan, organize, and lead educational activities adapted to the children’s age group. Excellent understanding of the child’s overall development (physical, social, emotional, language, and cognitive). Ability to observe, document, and intervene in a constructive and supportive manner. Knowledge of recognized educational programs (e.g., HighScope) – an asset. Technical Skills (Savoir-faire) Positive behavior management and compassionate intervention strategies. Ability to create a safe, stimulating, and well-organized environment. Strong communication skills with children, parents, and team members. Ability to work collaboratively, follow routines, and ensure educational continuity. Interpersonal Qualities (Savoir-être) Kindness, patience, and empathy. Positive leadership and professional attitude. Open-mindedness, creativity, and initiative. Reliability, autonomy, and strong sense of responsibility.
