Educator

Description of position

Under the supervision of management and in collaboration with the team, the educator ensures the health, safety, and well-being of children at all times. They plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote children's overall development and support daily routines, including meals, hygiene, naps, indoor and outdoor play, and transitions. The educator creates a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages learning and independence. They observe children's development, share relevant information with colleagues, and maintain respectful, professional relationships with families. The educator follows the centre's policies, procedures, and values, complies with provincial childcare regulations, and maintains confidentiality of all information. They participate in ongoing training, welcome constructive feedback, and continuously develop their professional skills to provide high-quality early childhood education and care that meets the diverse needs of children and their families.

Salary (range) :

Between 18$ and 20$

Typical schedule :

Each week alternates between study hours (an average of 15 hours) and work hours (10 to 20 hours depending on the needs of the workplace), throughout the duration of the program.

Knowledge of child development, early childhood education practices, and Quebec's Accueillir la petite enfance educational program is considered an asset. The candidate must follow the CPE's policies and procedures, exercise discretion, and maintain the confidentiality of all information. They will contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, stimulating, and welcoming environment where every child is treated with respect and supported in developing their full potential, independence, self-confidence, and overall growth.
