Les petits Hêtres

05 - Estrie

Workplace description

The approach encourages children to explore and learn about the world around them by creating a learning space that is nature-connected and engaged with the community. The approach is further inspired and influenced by the local environment and by the natural rhythms of the earth to help young children become curious, respectful, creative and eco-conscious citizens. Currently, the center is located in a temporary setting in North Hatley, while the construction of the permanent building in Ste-Catherine-de-Hatley is underway. We are happy to welcome 40 children between 18 months and five years of age.

Why join our educational team?

Les petits Hêtres is a citizen initiative that has been working voluntarily for several years to set up a CPE that includes education through nature. Nature is an enriched and complex environment! Due to the constantly changing weather conditions, the child's natural curiosity is aroused while promoting overall development. Throughout each season, children find themselves at the forefront of the evolution of nature. They are led to adapt, to modify their behavior and thus develop their sensitivity to the world around them. The elements of nature are powerful levers of learning. OUR MISSION Promote the profession & ensure with kindness and innovation the overall development of children 0-5 years old through contact with nature, the community and educational gardening. OUR TEAM The members of our team are chosen with care and they are greatly valued. We grant a lot of autonomy and encourage the sharing of knowledge.
